Flash Workshop

Posted by revolverroach at 03:24 PM on July 9, 2007 in Chattering.

warning: geek talk ahead

So i've been working on creating flash games recently. Top down action-adventure, side-scrollers and now an RTS. I've been able to program multi-level graphics handling, switching animation states, recognizing key-combinations, tile-based stage generation and little things like how to calculate angles and paths.

I've got 5 half-baked games in the works. Now if only I could do proper collision and path re-calculation I could finish the damn things.

We pay SKY Cable to turn our brains into mush pots

Go read a book

On an average weekday, a person is awake for 18 hours, of which he or she will spend 8 hours working, 2 hours eating, 2 hours moving (by foot or otherwise) and a little over an hour in the bathroom. That leaves about 5 hours of free time...

... which is spent watching TV.

How can you blame 'em? There's sooooo many good shows on (especially if you have cable)

I can name 15 off the top of my head easy:

  1. Heroes - missed it on air. thank god for dvd's!
  2. American Chopper - just once a week but well worth it
  3. 24 - Jack Bauer is the new John McClane
  4. Prison Break - tattoos with a purpose
  5. Supernatural - Ghost Whisperer minus JLH plus guns
  6. LOST - 4 8 15 16 23 42
  7. Eureka - for the peeps who're missing the sci-fi
  8. 30 Rock - alec baldwin = win
  9. CSI - original-flavor is still the best
  10. CSI: New York - yeah I skipped Miami, nyaaah
  11. NCIS - like JAG but with quirkier characters
  12. Criminal minds - profiling fun for everyone
  13. Merge - moving on to Lifestyle channel
  14. Clean House - our house needs to be Koopersmithed
  15. Mythbusters - Jamie and Adam are the new Beakman and Lester
Hmmmm... methinks I'll go vegetate in front of the TV for a while.

Fight for It

Fight for It

So I was downstairs having a puff outside the 7-11 when I saw this old guy push a little kid out of the line and take his place. The kid tried to protest but the guy just pushed him again... in the face. The cashier saw what was happening and told the guy off (I guess. I was outside and couldn't really hear)

The guy shouted something indignant, took a step towards the door, stopped for a second, pushed the kid in the face (one for the road) then quickly walked out of the store.

Pft. OLD does NOT equal MATURE.
