Dial-up Blues

I've spent the past two days surfing actionscript.org and sxc.hu, searching for design ideas.
I found a migraine instead.
.. I've got to get DSL.

EDIT: Finally hacked the tag-board width so it shows good on both IE and Firefox. Sorry for messin' with your code Roy Kim, but I want a tad more width on my tag-board.
ORIGINAL: From clean to Grunge in one template change.
Not done yet though. Accursed cross-browser compatibility!! Took me all night!

"Full native support for PNG still has not been implemented in the Windows version of MSIE, despite the fact that MSIE for Mac and others browsers have full support, and it was promised to the users of MSIE for Windows over four years ago."
- excerpt from Petition for PNG in IE
Got this link from Japo's YM stat. It's a public request for Microsoft to add PNG support to IE. This is relevant to anyone who uses the net extensively and especially important to designers in Web and Multimedia.

So I've been letting my hair grow for a few months now. I just wanted to see what it felt like to have a full head of hair.
I put up with the shampooing & conditioning, hot-oiling, spending thirty minutes in front of the fan, finding my towel still wet after ten hours, brushing out kinks, bearing the bad hair days and a myriad other things that you "hair-ed" people go through.
And I enjoyed it. Especially at gig time. Nothing makes for a more satisfying head-bang than sweaty locks whipping your face. I felt one step closer to being a real rock-star.
And then the dandruff came.
Although my genetics blessed me with my dashing good-looks (huwag nang kumontra!!) it also cursed me with Pityriasis capitis. From grade-school to high-school, I spent my days peering over my shoulder, checking for stray flakes. I avoided dark shirts like the plague. I was so embarrassed of my condition that I actively HID from girls when passing them in the mall. It was horrible.
And then, one day, I shaved my head. It was such a simple solution. And yet, the effect was instantaneous.
I held my head high, letting it gleam in the bright florescent light. Without the fear of snowy shoulders nagging my brain, I could devote my full attention to chatting with friends (or chatting up chicks). The world was my oyster! And I would eat it with relish!... the adjective, not the condiment... although relish IS delicious... I could go for a hotdog right about now... uhhhh...
BACK TO THE SUBJECT!!!
Despite the fact that I have grown to love my long curly hair, my pure HATRED for dandruff has forced my hand... which, in turn, held a shaver.
It took me almost half a year to grow it. And less than half an hour to take it all off. Goodbye, dear hair. Believe it or not, I shall miss you.
... *tear*

I spent the wee hours of Wednesday morning loading old PC parts and electronics into the backseat of our pick-up. It's basically junk we've accumulated over the years from upgrading and repairing PCs.
And that's just the stuff I photographed. We also disposed of a couple of big-ass items like...
All-in-all it was about 10-cubic feet of broken gear. Yay! More house space!

Yeeesh. Everyone's bashing Valentines this year. If you've got the time, read Ryan Sohmer's take on the holiday. He brings up a few points that everyone could benefit from, regardless of social status.
