Humaluminum Foil

Posted by revolverroach at 03:13 PM on April 21, 2005.

Ever tried to peel apart a ball of crumpled aluminum foil?

It's a delicate matter.

First you must find the edge of the material. A weak point. A place to start. Then you begin pulling...

...Pulling and...

                  ...pulling...

                              ...carefully, so as not...

                                                            ...to rip...

                                                                       ...a single...

                                                                                     ...inch...

                                                                                              ...by delicate inch...

...a long, ardorous process that serves no obvious purpose...

'til you finish

and you spread out that sheet of coarse material

each crease making a unique facet

glinting in the light

Spartan

One last formality and I'm free of my job. Hallelujah!

But of course now I have to keep the promise I made, that if I quit my work I'd also have to quit...

1. Smoking

2. Heavy Drinking

3. Excessive Gaming

4. Extravagant Dining

5. Compulsive Slacking

Demmit that's heavy. That's a a third of my lifestyle right there. But of course it's necessary. I'll have to live simply from now on. At the moment, my bank account is teetering on ZERO.

I'll have to sweat blood to make ends meet.

And yet I have this giddy feeling. A warped sense of excitement...

Rrrrowr. I love a good challenge.

Out

Posted by revolverroach at 03:11 PM on April 26, 2005.

We just had a power outage that lasted from early morning til just a few minutes ago. The heat was driving me mad. I took three showers just to cool off, hardly bothering to towel myself dry. It didn't matter. Any water would evaporate within twenty minutes.

The heat. The humidity. The torment...

... that I wasn't able to meet you today. I don't like breaking promises.
